Enter the community.

One day when I walked around London, I found some narrowboat located around the city. It increases my interest in studying the ethnography of the narrowboat community, and how the architecture influences the living in the boat. After that, I interviewed the people who live in a narrowboat. Me who have influential identity people in the community. In this process, I have asked several questions, and I find almost all of them give similar answers.

Two paths: Hammersmith(51.526086, -0.232963) and Paddington Basin(51.518352, -0.175220).

After reorganising the voice record, they feel like to communicate in the same environment. The boat owners are actually in the same narrow boat community but sometimes will feel isolated because they all stay in their boat. It is an ironic phenomenon that some of their boats located nearby the construction site which the building they want to own but they cannot. I combine the meaning of the window and the desire of the boat owner.

I Recorded the texture of their windows by rubbing and Captured the environment alongside the river. I combine both meanings through projection. This project aims at revealing that social issue.
